The Hellenic Museum and Cultural Center is dedicated to preserving archival collections from the Greek immigrant experience in the United States. In addition, the museum showcases the visual, literary and performing artwork of the Hellenic people. A new 40,000 square-foot museum is being constructed in Greektown where the center currently has a temporary space.
Exhibit: Remembering Generations: The Greek Immigrant’s Journey
Remembering Generations is a retrospective exploring highlights from the HMCC’s permanent collections and past exhibitions that have chronicled the paths of Greek immigrants and their assimilation to all facets of life and work in the United States. This exhibition explores the stages of Greek immigration through works of art, historical artifacts, photographs and documentary materials.
Hours: HMCC hours are Tuesday through Friday 10am – 4pm; Saturday 11am – 4pm. There is a suggested donation admission of $5 for non-members, admission is free to HMCC Members.
