Lowell Park - Dixon, Illinois The grounds are beautifully maintained, and hiking trails are plentiful. There is a bike/hiking trail leading from Dixon 3.5 miles to the park.

The park was established in 1907. Previously there was swimming at the park but that is no longer available. When the beach was open Ronald Reagan was a lifeguard credited with saving 77 people during his tenure.

Nature Center

The entrance to the park is framed by two large limestone columns, one of which is totally covered with ivy since it is in the sun, the other is not and therefore doesn’t have the ivy.

The Nature Center has a variety of displays that will make you more aware of the park surroundings. There are also live animals to educate both children and adults in the intricacies of nature.
All animals at the Nature Center are licensed as "educational" animals or birds through the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

ADA boat ramps/docks are available for those people who wish to go boating, water skiing or fishing.

There are miles of bike and hiking trails to follow in and around Dixon.
